[HAM] chopping Hammonds

I like the looks of John's chops. I hate B3 cabinets. Does this make me a bad guy? And if I am, do I care? ;-)

Just so I'm straight on this thing, isn't a "chopped" hammond one that has 
it's 'container' replaced?  Like buying an old ham radio and putting it in a 
new box?  It's still a Collins 390 (or whatever), just in a nice shiny new 
cabinet?  Isn't the reason beautiful antique furniture is valuable is 
because Old + Beautiful usually equals Rare?  But as for the Old + Scratched 
to hell and gone, well.. Sure, somebody just nailing some plywood together 
isn't doing themselves any favors, but there are some folks on here that 
seem to have as much a passion for cabinetry and furniture-making as any 
Homeworkshop.org member.  I personally love the Danish blonde minimalist 
school of furniture, and would love a Hammond that would fit into a living 
room of my Alpine ski lodge (LOL) rather than a hulking mahogany behemoth. 
Quality might have peaked in 1955, but aesthetics have changed.
