[HAM] Leslie half-moon versus footswitchBohachewsky, Andrew V. abohachewsky at draper.comMon Jul 9 17:12:02 CDT 2007
I've been thinking of adding a momentary footswitch to use along with the standard halfmoon. Best of both worlds, easy to add to a SLOW/FAST switch (which I imagine is what you have since it's controlling a 147 - adding a momentary fast to a SLOW-OFF-FAST would be trickier). In the meantime I just force myself to use the left hand. Looks much better to any Hammond player (of course that's only if you're looking to impress any Hammond players...). If you can go that route you'll be right at home in front of any Hammond. I have a modified CV (B+ to run a 147, percussion unit). It has a half-moon switch mounted on the left side of the organ to control the Leslie. I find it kind of annoying to have to use my left hand to work the switch. I'm not a huge pedal player, so I think a footswitch would work better for me. A couple questions: 1. Generally, how do people feel about half-moon vs. footswitch 2. How difficult is it to install a footswitch? Thanks much.
