[HAM] Awesome way to sell humble gearEric Pratt ericmusicus at yahoo.comTue Jul 10 12:11:52 CDT 2007
YHWH is the "unspoken name" of God. Jewish people are never supposed to speak God's name; actually, they claim it's unpronouncable and/or so sacred it should never be uttered. Original Hebrew had no vowels to speak of, so "YAHWEH" without vowels is YHWH - God's "name" in the Torah and Christian Bible among others such as El Shaddai and Jehovah (which is actually the same exact word as Yahweh, there is no letter "J" in Hebrew, and the letter "v" can sometimes be used as a "w"), Adonai, Elohim (the very first mention of God's name in Genesis, 4th word in English, "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth" or in phonetic Hebrew, the 2nd word "Bereshith Elohim"), which can be shortened to just "El", and since Arabic is somewhat of a derivation of Hebrew, "Allah" works the same way, "Allah" can be shortened to "Al". It's kinda complicated, and this discourse is an ancient & debatable topic, but there it is...I studied languages for a while, easier to grasp if ya have that under your belt. --- goffmac747 at aol.com wrote: > > I saw that but didn't get it. what's it supposed to > mean? > > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Eric Pratt <ericmusicus at yahoo.com> > To: The Hammond Forum <hammond at zeni.net> > Sent: Tue, 10 Jul 2007 11:38 am > Subject: Re: [HAM] Awesome way to sell humble gear > > > > > > > > > > > Very nice.
