[HAM] Bogus ebay again?Bohachewsky, Andrew V. abohachewsky at draper.comWed Jul 11 11:02:02 CDT 2007
I never thought to look for Hammonds or Leslies under that ebay heading! Maybe he listed there... cause that's how he wants to be paid (ie in coins and paper money?) But seriously folks... did you check out his other "stuff" in his ebay store? The very first listing looks genuine. All 200+ other items seems to have all been added simultaneously - and all at the same prices! I guess it's pretty obvious that he's hijacking someone's real store, hijacking previous item sales (real items, real pictures, real descriptions stolen from other listings and inserted into his cooky template), and hoping to find someone who was born yesterday and IS looking for a bridge. I actually find it disconcerting to run across such sloppy incompetent fraud. This was obviously done in an automated fashion requiring some level of computer savvy so the guy can't be a total idiot (although a little more savvy might have randomized the listings a bit?). Guess it's the "throw out enough bait you're bound to get a bite even if it is the crappiest possible bait" paradigm? And I guess he had to throw up a lot of stuff fast cause I don't think those listings are going to last too long on ebay. I can't believe that anybody would fall for any of those listings. Yet the fact is those listings wouldn't be out there if there weren't takers. And that kind of stupidity is troubling and can really raise doubts on the future of the human race...
