[HAM] Chopped C3. Does this make me a bad person?Steve Beach steve at secludedbeach.anikast.caSun Jun 24 08:10:45 CDT 2007
Lazlo, I have a chopped B-3. I've owned it for close to 40 yrs. Of course I had it when it was close to brand new in it's original case, but after years of gigging and bad advice from so called cabinet makers and poor so-called Hammond techs, I had no other choice to have the organ restored using a professionally-chopped case, and rebuilt or replaced preamp, expression pedal, etc. Almost 30 yrs. later, this chop is performing just fine, includes bass pedals (which many of them don't) and I don't regret it. The key word here is "professional" chop. I had no other choice at the time. This was 1978, before email and the internet. There was no network of Hammond enthusiasts. All's well that ends well.
