[HAM] Leslie 25 - How-to add later multi-speed Leslie w/hornsDave Bishop xxcaptinxx at comcast.netMon Jun 25 22:33:52 CDT 2007
Yes, you understood me correctly. If you look at the 25 amp's schematic at www.captain-foldback.com it will be clearer to you that the same organ signal going to the 25 is passed along to the next 6W style Leslie. You can also peruse the various styles of Hammond Tone Cabinets to see how the components differ. The pin wiring for Hammond Tone Cabinets is not directly compatible with any of the Leslie cabinets. The intent of using a 120VAC relay is to give the convenience of turning on the organ and the Leslie(s) using only the run switch on the organ to trigger a low-draw relay, which then engages the higher-draw Leslies without overloading the run switch. You could always wire separate power cords to the Leslie amps, or put a second "Leslie power switch" in the back of the organ that intercepts power from the organ's power cord before it goes to the organ switches and directs it to the six-pin plug where the Leslie(s) normally get power. The Leslie relays sold at retail are slick, but kind of spendy. They are easy to build, however, out of Home Depot and Radio Shack parts.
