[HAM] How hard would this be?Bohachewsky, Andrew V. abohachewsky at draper.comTue Mar 6 16:00:25 CST 2007
Yeah, didn't look anything like this thread's ebay pic (that's just a regular ole single manual clone with trek preamp). I seem to remember that it didn't seem much more portable than a console. I imagine the only reason for it was to actually play a tone generator via midi. The more you start thinking about it, the answer to the subject becomes "a hell of a lot harder than buying a nice Hammond Leslie combo" - and yes I am including any work/employment required to get you to the "able to buy" stage. Wasn't there someone several years ago that had a scanner/TG contraption that could be driven from a midi keyboard...or at least claimed to? I remember seeing pix and he had a web page with a prototype. But I don't think he ever started producing them. > I have a Tone Generator from a "T" it is the last remaining > worthwhile part left in the organ.
