[HAM] Guitar input for an M-100?Jerry Fowler jerryinkc at gmail.comMon Mar 12 11:25:48 CDT 2007
Yes I did keep the spring tank. I was really amazed at how well the L's amp/speaker combo sounded for guitar with very minimal modification. The suitability of the setup for any particular guitar player is going to depend alot on what features you expect from a guitar amp. I'm very minimalist (as far as amp settings go) so the standard treble/bass/mid controls are always at 12 o'clock - which means Im glad they dont exist on the L amp. I'm probably over-opinionated, but I think that if an amp doesnt sound good without a bunch of tone bending circuits, then it just doesnt sound good. I suppose the next step will be having a cabinetmaker help me transition these wonderful guts into a better home. I'm thinking of suggesting to my future cabinetmaker that they use wood from the organ cabinet. Save me some materials money, with a plus of all that posterity and good stuff. -JDF
