[HAM] Alignment of Start Motor

Hi everyone:

I have a start motor that binds against the TWG drive gear in a RT-2.  I've taken the motor out and oiled it as well as cleaning and oiling the TWG drive gear and shaft.  Pushing the start motor slightly sideways deflects the thin metal of the end of the TWG just enough to allow a good alignment for starting and proper disengagement once the start switch is released. 

I've read through the archives and see one reference to aligning the start motor, but no instructions on how this is accomplished.  Can anyone shed any light on the correct way to do this?
