The end plate is steel, and is (in my experience) pretty malleable. Unless yours looks particularly worked over, I don't think I'd worry too much about it cracking --- not that I'm offering any guarantees, ind you. (I'd worry more about making sure not to bend or break other parts of the TG which should obviously remain unbent.) Generally we're not talking about putting in (or removing) any sharp bends --- rather we're just removing (or perhaps creating) a bit of "warpage" in the end plate. Jeff
