[HAM] Leslie working ( sort of) ( 25 and L100 ) distortion , blown fuseDavid Damroze damroze at excite.comWed Mar 28 21:56:36 CDT 2007
I got the connector hooked into the L100 by basically copying the connections from the M3. I guess that the solution to the electrical being constantly on is to plug the organ into a power strip and just turn the whole thing off when done . Right ? Anyway , I fired everything up and the 25 started spinning and everything was playing okay except with a very staticy , as opposed to overdriven ,kind of distortion and less output than I would have expected. (In spit of this, I am now officially hooked on leslies ) . So , I put everything together , move the organ and Leslie back into place , vacuum up the miscellaneous bits of wire insulation and solder splots out of the carpet. Pat myself on the back for getting stuff hooked up , turn everything on and --no more Leslie ( waaah!) The rotor is spinning but no sound. I check the booster amp - no pretty tubes lit up . Turns out the fuse is blown. So , I disconnect the booster amp and play through the cabinet connector. I get pretty whirly sound , at lower volume of course , but still a lot of static distortion when I push the expression pedal past about half. So , some questions - What should I check before replacing the blown fuse in the booster amp ? What should be my prime suspects for the staticy distortion with and without booster amp ? David D.
