Man, don't chop an M3. They're beautiful beasts. Very likely you'll
end up with an unfinished project and the world will have one less M3.
I've chopped a M-102, because it had already been gutted of its amps
and electronics and birds had pooped on it in a barn. I ended up
putting the TWG under the keyboard, to make it more compact. It was a
big, big job and I was trained as an electronics tech. It did get
done though, and sounded great. But, don't do it.
