[HAM] Variacs and tone generator motors

thank you for this most helpful response... as you've probably guessed I am not a keyboardist (it's for my studio for those folks that don't want to haul their Hammond over.. The Variac does not change frequency, only voltage...

...and no red wires going to the motor...

I think it's an automatic... The H-100 simply had an "ON/OFF" switch... more like a centrifugal clutch....

now the pedal... the H-100 I had before this one, if I remember correctly the pedal would return,

is it preferable to have the pedal remain in whatever position you leave it in? but like I said I don't play them, I just replace components so I have something to do in my spare time, but I can probably just power up the AO-44,...lacking a better suggestion
and it won't fit in the microwave... or I'd give that a try ;-)

Anyplace you see the wires. (big secret - they're RED, and there's 2
of each) LOL - let everybody know about "ramping up" the AC to a RUN
motor, OK? Cause this WILL go in the archives - and probably go down
in history, too. LOL - a motor that syncs to 60Hz. Why not try a
220v supply at about 280Hz, and turn that baby into a microwave oven?

Give it a try - you'll find out. BTW, does it have a 3 speed or 4 speed 4WD?

Is that what YOU want? Then just replace the spring with a stronger
one. ("Where would I get a spring?") How bout Home Depot, or
Lowe's? ("They didn't have the right length.") Keep looking.
