I'm going to have a wood worker friend make a top shelf for me. Does
anybody happen to know the standard 145 dimension from the top to
the upper surface of the shelf?

I saw Speakeasy was selling what they called "space age polymer"
belts on eBay that did away with the tensioner pulley, which I don't
have, so that appealed to me. Is it just as well to run a real belt
with adjustment slots for the motor and no tensioner?

Compared to my 860, this Franken-Leslie should have tons of bass no
matter what I end up with. Right now there are two angle cut ports in
the woofer shelf that I may experiment with reducing if the bass sounds weak.

Thanks for all the tips so far. It's been very helpful.
