I have even soldered the contact wire back on some in a pinch and then filed down the solder. Not easy and not the best thing in the world to do, but it was my Hammond and I wanted to try it. It is still working just fine. Inspect the bars and if everything is in order, clean them and put them back in. Make sure that they are no torn up contact wires or the wire hanging out so it grabs a key contact on the way back in. If you feel better replacing them, I have some used sets here I can sell you at a very reasonable price. I throw them on the bay from time to time, and like to have spares here as well in case I mangle one badly taking it out or trying to put it back in, or if I get one that busts my ass for too long going back in. Has the tech that suggested you replace them actually ever done bus bars before or is this just an "opinion" after pulling them? They usually never look very good in general after you get them out of there. ------John www.HammondStore.com
