[HAM] M3 one tone generator not working?Mike Konopka ttone007 at gmail.comThu May 24 09:55:37 CDT 2007
Folks, I have a M3 that we used in our prog band "Pentwater" for many years. It was cut down by Harrington Organ in Chicago in the 1970's. Harrington claimed to be the first guy ever to pair a Leslie with a Hammond. He also said that Hammond sued him for doing this. He counter-sued them and claimed to have won 1 million dollars from Hammond and that he had started the Hammond w/ Leslie craze. The shop was on Montrose avenue and his assistant was named Ed. Harrinton has been gone for many, many years. Anyway, I have my new home studio finished and it's time to give the beloved M3 some long deserved attention. I think a tone generator must be not working because if I play chromtically, one drawbar at at time, I find a dead note that varies predictably depending on the drawbar in use. Both manuals. Is this a connection or something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Lastly can I hook up the old M3 pedal key triggers off the organ's keyboard lowest octave. That would add an octave below right? Maybe I'm nuts but it would be great to have that pedal drawbar work again as the pedal were lost when Harrinton cut down Pentwater's M3.
