[HAM] Greetings from a "new" Hammond M-101 and Leslie 25 ownerPete Dako petedako at gmail.comMon May 28 11:09:51 CDT 2007
Hello! I'm a new subscriber here. Back in the 70s I had a Hammond X-5 which I played thru a Traynor bass head and some kind of Leslie 45/47? with a Leslie pedal preamp. Young and foolish,I traded all that for a worthless but much easier to carry replacement, after breaking a toe (Leslie drop) and just getting too embarrassed about having to beg for help carrying this "portable" rig. Anyway, despite playing many great pianos and lots of midi gear over the years (including NIs B4 and Logic's EVB3- which only made me want a "real" hammond that much more!)- and even after transposing a lot of my focus to bass, guitars etc. etc. I have never stopped missing that sound, and regretting giving up that organ until now! I just bought myself a beautiful Hammond M-101 (serial # 20130) with a Leslie 25 (serial # 7877) . Beautifully kept, single owner absolutely as near mint as one could hope. She even kept "Hammond Times", "Fun at The Hammond", The original Hammond M-100 Spinet "Owners Playing Guide" book and stacks of hammond specific music books, which were included with the purchase. Not sure if anyone can help date this pair via the serial numbers but if so please let me know. Thanks, Pete
