[HAM] Any knowledge of E or H100 percussion??

Does anybody have knowledge of why an E100 has the bass utterly choked out of its percussion signal?
I've rewired its post perc-matching transformer circuitry to h100 specs...little or no improvement. I then replaced the 33k between the push-pull output of the transformer with 330k, much louder overall but still no bassier.

Is it possible that the bass gets choked out via a lack of primary inductance in the transformer?

I've asked this question more than twice now so either the forum doesnt care for hot-rod E100s, doesnt care to share their knowledge or simply doesnt know.
Should I make the signal as loud as possible then attenuate the treble??
Any help would really be appreciated.
