[HAM] L-143 noiseMichael Downes lordvader131 at yahoo.comMon Oct 1 21:25:48 CDT 2007
It will take AT LEAST a week. I had an M100 that hadn't been oiled for 5 years. You need to get a long oil dropper and get into each individual bearing to speed things up. You could look for a single offending wheel, but when you have a chorus of them you have to do tham all. I've heard people say to stop each individual wheel to find which one is noisy, but I would never do that. Jim Subject: [HAM] L-143 noise I just got hold of a L-143 that starts & plays but has the most awful bunch of grinding, squawling noises I have ever heard. Also "B" above middle "C" makes a strange sound at times & plays the note at times. I have oiled the motor & the TWG cups but they have been neglected for a long time. HELP!
