Yeah John,
Radio stations always use compression for technical reasons as well as an 
attempt to develop a distinctive sound. There's a wide range of equipment 
available that's dedicated to radio station use, but each station tries to 
create its own custom profile. You can see this stuff on the Web if you 
search for it. I doubt you would have to buy specialized equipment to 
achieve something similar at home. If you're lucky you could talk to an 
engineer at that station and try to worm the settings out of him/her.
