well, I myself have played on an "interesting" album that may have 
succeeded in turning off or pissing people off - but it was the way the 
artist chose to tell the tale (and it helped me regain my love for live

I'm sure JB didn't just come up w/ those licks and grooves off the cuff either. It's also cool the way Dan quotes that soul song (can't remember the name off the top of my head) in the vocal part.
