Lighter fluid did a great job on a grubby 1/2 moon switch I restored. Great at removing residue from masking tape, etc. When I did the felts on my C2, I let the residue soak (upside down off the organ) in lighter fluid for about a minute before I scraped it, 2nd I scouring pad/goo goned, then wiped residue with alcohol, that's about as clean as it gets. Don't get that stuff on the front of the upper manual faceplate if you can help it. It seems to make the black easier to rub off with normal cleaning.
