[HAM] (UPDATED) OT: Traynor YGM-3 Guitarmate Amp

Well, A small white-hot fire started on pin 7 of one of the EL84s today.  Perhaps if one of you tech geniuses looks at the schematic (http://www.lynx.bc.ca/~jc/730911_YGM3_4.gif) it will be apparent what the problem is. While we are at it, if anyone could recommend some good study material on audio electronic theory I'd appreciate it.  I am pretty quick with this stuff, always shined in physics classes, but I still can't look at a circuit diagram and really "get"what everything is doing.

The wurly is going to be very hot compared to what the traynor wants  
to see. Expertiment with running it very low. Also, if the distortion  
you describe is really harsh and totally unmusical you may have  
crossover distortion in the power supply. Look for wax dripping out of  
the tranformer, or a flakey rectifier tube.
