[HAM] OT: Traynor YGM-3 Guitarmate Amp and Wurly

I'm guessing that you're using the Aux Out on the Wurly?

I have a Wurly which sounds and plays great but I always thought the aux
out level was very low.

On opening it up I discovered that the aux out was actually jumpered to
the preamp output rather than the final amp output. Because one of the
output transistor set is fried. I wasn't too happy to find this out, but
the Wurly was a good buy and in very shape otherwise - and it does sound
great. When last gigged out I had the preamp "aux" out going through a
Digitech Vocal300 multi effects which has its own preamp with gain
setting. No problem getting a good clean signal adjusting Wurly volume
and Vocal300 gain.

So there's one thing to try. Ultimately whatever is used for the second
stage amplification (vocal300 or the amp's preamp section or some other
mic pre) is probably better quality than the 2nd amp stage in the Wurly.

I should fix that 2nd stage amp board though... first spare moment...
right after all the other projects...

Andy

The wurly is going to be very hot compared to what the traynor wants
to see.
