[HAM] Shipping a LeslieKip Amore kipswork at aol.comThu Apr 10 22:06:15 CDT 2008
Try Shaffer or Scheafer moving. They did a good job for me about 7 years ago. It takes a while to get to you, as like any shipping company they pre-plan a route for the truck to follow so it stays as full (profitable) as possible. You might also try any regular shipping company. Try Bax Global, or Eagle Freight. Not as expensive as you might think - depending. A regular shipper might require the person send ing you the Leslie to put it on a skid (or pallet, same diff - these can be found stacked up behind strip malls - don't let the cops catch you taking it) and you would definitly want the dude sending it to wrap it in something. A movers blanket or cardboard - they scratch easily. Another new fangled solution is Youship.com. It's like a clearing house for freight. My mother recently used it to find independant movers for her household. Worked very well. You might just get lucky. Last resorts: Fed Ex - no size limit on overnight, but it would cost a lot to overnight a Leslie. Fed Ex and UPS also have oversized departments that handle this kind of stuff. Depending. Call Roadway - it couldn't hurt.
