0.220 mfd capacitors in parallel with 0.027 mfd or 0.033 mfd capacitors in order to make up the values of 0.247 mfd or 0.253 mfd which are more or less close to the mfd values required by the inductor coils of the TG notes 49 to 54. For the TG notes 55 to 91 you can use 0.1 uf capacitors. The 0.1 uf capacitor value is approximately close to the mfd value required by the inductor coil filters of the TG notes 55 to 91. If you decide to recap the TG you could also use this opportunity to replace the wax paper capacitors from the vibrato line box with new capacitors of the same mfd value as that printed on the case of the wax paper capacitors. You can use the readily and cheaply available MKT polyester capacitors or the green cap polyester capacitors or the more expensive polypropylene capacitors for the TG. You do not need to use the expensive audiophile grade capacitors . The TG is not an audiophile device so therefore it is OK to use the cheaper polyester capacitors because they are sealed in the plastic case so therefore they will not drift up off spec like the wax paper capacitors did. If you g's CV organ Was: to www.hammond-leslie.com <http://www.hammond-leslie.com/> you can download a copy of my TG and tapering data Excel spreadsheet ( titled "Kon's TG and tapering data" ) . This TG data spreadsheet contains the measured TG output levels of over seventy Hammond organs ranging from the 1930's , 40's , 50's , 60's and 70's era and this includes wax capped pre 1964 organs , recapped pre 1964 organs and red mylar capped post 1964 organs. You can see the big differences on the output levels of the TG notes 49 to 91 of the wax capped organs and the recapped organs. The TG notes 49 to 91 of the recapped pre 1964 wax paper capped organs are more or less similar to that of the red mylar capped post 1964 organs because the red mylar capacitors did not drift up off spec like the wax paper capacitors did so therefore the post 1964 red mylar capped organs still more or less have the original brighter sound. All the best. Kon Karlo Lovric wrote: Well, I have a '47 CV and 760 with MIG-L tube overdrive. Probably the most of the sound is in the organ. But I think I should get myself a tube leslie. Few days ago, I rebuilt CV's preamp. Have changed few bad caps, and it sounds with more life now. But still too "warm" (had to use that word) for my taste. Maybe I should compare my TG outputs with other organs.. Karlo.
