that uses actual footage of that time I will look at the cars and see
if I can see the charcoal burners on them.

I wonder what kind of sound these engines produced.

is heated to 800 degree celsius and starts to burn without oxygene, it 
converts to charcoal. The wood gas is 50% carbon dioxide , 33% carbon
