[HAM] Volume control on an H-112

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and acquired an H-112 last weekend.  This may sound silly, but does anyone know how to control the volume.  The only way I can currently control it is with the "Soft Volume" switch, which ultimately leaves me with only two settings.  If volume control is via the pedal, I must have a bad pedal.  Any help would be appreciated.
