[HAM] Noisy upper rotor motor

Oil goes into a little hole at the top base where the horns meet (you'll see it). Use leslie oil, a little goes a long way - start with a drop or two.
Could be the motors, or the mercotac unit, maybe time for a new o-ring too.

If you take your upper driver off and look at the gunk that can accumulate (where horn meets the driver base), you might find it's been in need of some cleaning.
Re-oil after reassembly. Little drop of oil on that pulley bearing is good too. (very little, don't get it on the belt).

But I've had troubles in the past with those diffusers on the horns - would you happen to have those on yours?

What's been the case is over time their mounting comes loose on 1 (or more) of the 3 mounting tabs (glue wears, etc). Next thing you know you're searching for the odd sound/rattles in there. See if they're loose it might be the case with yours too.
I would have liked to keep the diffusers on these other leslies, but the problem as crept up on each of them and away they went eventually.
*if you take it off one horn, you should take it off the other side as well (balance reasons).
