[HAM] BV and Leslie 147 stuck on fast

Check the wiring between the switch and the Leslie 6-pin connector. Pins 2 and 5 go straight the relay coil. Pins 3 and 4 supply the AC to the Leslie amp. Pins 2 and 3 should be jumpered together and pins 4 and 5 connect to the switch and complete the circuit to send the AC supply to the relay coil via pins 2 and 5. When the switch is in it's closed position, it is in the chorale position and sends voltage to the relay. When you switch to tremolo, the switch opens and the realy returns to it's normal off state which is the fast motors to operate. Sounds like you have either a bad switch, bad wiring from the switch to the 6 pin jack, or a problem with the realy coil itself in the Leslie amp. Do the following:

1. Using a DMM, check to see if your switch is working by connecting your test probes to the switch terminals directly. If you do not get continuity while the switch is in one or the other position, you have either a bad switch, bad solder joint in the switch, or a bad wire connected to the switch. Also check the connections from the switch to the 6-pin leslie connector on the organ. If you are getting continuity, go to the next step.

2 With the leslie cable unplugged, connect your DMM to pins 2 and 5 of the connector on the leslie amp. If you get a resitance ( I don't remember what the impedance of the coil should be) then your coil is probaly working and your connection to the coil is for sure working. There is a capacitor across those pins so just to be sure, remove the amp from the cabinet and inspect the wires connecting pins 2 and 5 to the coil itself.

I also tried a different switch and different cable, but the Leslie remained stuck on fast speed. When I first contacted the owner the Leslie was switching between chorale and tremolo with no problem.> ________________________________________________________________________> More new features than ever.
