[HAM] Noisy upper rotorArmond armond at cafebeat.orgThu Feb 7 14:37:43 CST 2008
Many thanks to all who responded. Oiling at the "oil here" on the horn didn't help. I did find that if I pull down on the small motor (by the steel core not the wires) that the noise goes away completely. Does that mean that it's an alignment problem or do I need a new slow motor? Peace - armond >Sound like you will need more than oil. >There is a complete breakdown of the motor assembly in the Leslie manual or >if you wish at Benton Electronics web site: >http://www.bentonelectronics.com/ >click on service info >then click on servicing Leslie Motors >mike <snip> My upper rotor motor on my 147 has gotten noisy of late in slow mode. It's a rattling sound. The horn rotates normally, but the noise is annoying, particularly when recording. I'm guessing that it needs oil, but am not sure where the oil goes on a Leslie motor. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Peace --
