[HAM] Noisy upper rotor

Could be either.  You can clean, re-lub and adjust both the fast and slow 
motors yourself by following the directions at www.bentonelectronics.com 
under Services.   Following that procedure pretty much covers all the bases 
leading to a solution.  Pay particular attention to the rubber grommets 
cushioning the assembly from the cabinet.  You may need to buy new spacers 
and washers for the slow motor, which are relatively cheap.  If you still 
get unacceptable noise after making all the adjustments and tightening 
everything up, you'd probably be looking for a replacement motor.  But I'm 
betting that yours can be saved.
