I hear that Billy Preston was more of a heel-toe guy.

Subject: [HAM] pedal technique

I'm starting to try to learn how to play the pedals. I have a couple of
beginner books that I'm working out of. They don't mention what part of the
foot I should have in contact with the pedals.

I've found that using the bottom left edge of the ball of my left foot is
the best way that I can keep from playing more than one note at a time.

Is this acceptable or should I work at using the middle of the tip of the
toe?

I don't want to start a bad habit that might hinder me as I try to advance.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Brent Owen
