Thanks for the response and the link.
Besides being extremely talented she has the luxury of a skinnier foot than
mine and she's not wearing tennis shoes.
I wonder how she would play in street shoes?

I believe that Barbara Dennerlein changes which part of her foot she uses
depending on if it's a reach to the left or to the right.

I'm starting to try to learn how to play the pedals. I have a couple of
beginner books that I'm working out of. They don't mention what part of the
foot I should have in contact with the pedals. 

I've found that using the bottom left edge of the ball of my left foot is
the best way that I can keep from playing more than one note at a time.

Is this acceptable or should I work at using the middle of the tip of the
toe?

I don't want to start a bad habit that might hinder me as I try to advance.

Any advice?
