Interesting thought on the sustain. Thanks for the tip.
I don't know if I'll ever be able to do the heel. I don't think my ankle and
feet are built to pivot and stab the heel like I would assume you would have
to. Legs aren't real long either.
Do you sit on the edge of the bench?

Don't use anybody that plays using artificial sustain as a learning example
and don't use artificial sustain when you're learning.  If you do you WILL
be limiting yourself.  

Heel-toe is the way to go.

I bet Barbara also has a killer heel-toe technique.
