[HAM] pedal technique

That's a great point about the "heeled" shoes. I guess they would help
correct my assumed ankle pivoting deficiency for heeled playing. Leather
soles with heels just aren't in my casual wardrobe (and I'm %100 casual).
Can anyone here play heel-toe pedals wearing sneakers and having flat feet?
Thanks Luther,
Brent

I am an amateur, but I was told to use shoes with leather soles and HEELS
and it helps you scoot around the pedals better....you can use heel and toe
or whatever method you choose. The leather heels come in handy in certain
situations where you have to gliss one way or the other. As I said, I am an
amateur and I am sure there are pros on the list that can give you some real
good advice. Good luck and glad to hear you are going to learn the pedals.

I'm starting to try to learn how to play the pedals. I have a couple of
beginner books that I'm working out of. They don't mention what part of the
foot I should have in contact with the pedals.

I've found that using the bottom left edge of the ball of my left foot is
the best way that I can keep from playing more than one note at a time.

Is this acceptable or should I work at using the middle of the tip of the
toe?

I don't want to start a bad habit that might hinder me as I try to advance.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Brent Owen
