Sort of a right-wing debating trick. I laugh: ha ha. In truth, the first time I renewed an AO-28, mine, I wanted all carbon composition resistors, based on some arcane hoodoo I had heard/read. Since then I have learned that carbon comp resistors can degrade badly over time, and even while retaining the correct resistance, they can become very noisy when the carbon breaks down or degrades in some way.
