I guess with a full frequency line out you can eq that signal any way
you want (including beefing up the bass or compensating for anything
else). Do you know how it was used in the final mix?

A line out to a bass amp with the mids and treble rolled all the way
down works almost as well as a bass line out. 

I find the bass line out to be very useful when doing organ bass stuff
with enthusiastic guitarists :)
