The rotor shaft in the vibrato scanner is now spinning quite nicely
by hand after letting it
soak in oil for a couple of days. However, I've partially reassembled
the scanner and when I spin
the flywheel on the TG side of the scanner, the rotor spinneth not (
after much toil).
Is there some peculiarity of the mechanism where it will work once
the whole thing is
back in the organ i.e. an electro-magnetic clutch of some sort? Does
the clutch only
operate at certain RPMs? Is it possible that the clutch is burned out
from the organ being run
while the scanner bearing was froze and, if so, what do I check next.
Does it reside in the
metal box like structure under the little pan with the oil sponge
within ?
