Kon,
I have come across a few of those Rola treble drivers and have a couple
in stock. My thoughts on them are::
A bit clearer than the Jensen, stay in alignment better. I like their tone
better.Keith

Subject: [HAM] Question about a Rola treble driver on a 1969 ? Leslie 122
Hi everyone.
Yesterday I did some work on a 1969 ? Leslie and an 1966 A100 organ.
The serial number of the Leslie is F5902.
The 220915 number on the Jensen C15 bass speaker and the 190-6950
number on one of the slow motors indicates that this Leslie 122 is from
around 1969.
The treble driver on this Leslie 122 is not a Jensen V21 but instead it
is a treble driver with a ceramic magnet and this treble driver looks
somewhat like a Hammond Suzuki 100 watt ferro fluid treble driver. The
tonal quality of this treble driver resembles a ferro fluid driver
although perhaps not as loud and bright as the ferro fluid driver.
This treble driver is mounted directly on to the same kind of grey
mounting plate that normally holds a Jensen V21 so therefore it appears
that this treble driver might possibly be a replacement driver
specifically intended for a Leslie.
The numbers printed on this treble driver are as follows:
41974 DV14T81
314-140491
2858140
The 285 indicates that it is a Rola brand treble driver and the 8140
indicates that it might have been built in the 40th week of 1981.
Does anyone know anything about this type of treble driver ?
Thank you in advance for a reply.
All the best.
Kon
