John,

Since, as of this year, these amps are all at least 50 years old,  
they pretty much all need complete rebuilds, though I think it's well  
worth it.

With Leslie amps, fortunately, it's not very hard to do.

Like a few others, I recommend a down to the chassis rebuild of  
these, including tube sockets. I'm working on a 44W right now, and  
the sockets all LOOKED good--no obvious burning or discoloration--but  
when I moved the wires attached to it, the rectifier socket simply  
broke apart.
