[HAM] Can't get M-3 to wind up...

The starter gears are supposed to disengage at this point in the process. 
If the shaft, spring, and associated hardware are gummed up, the gear won't 
disengage properly and the starter motor will then bring everything to a 
halt. (The run motor has very little torque.) Toothbrush + WD-40 + starter 
gears X Jack = Fixed. (Follow with a little Hammond oil.)

If that's not the problem, your next stop will be on the starter resistor, 
checking for proper resistance, or see if it's melted in half.   :-)

Whoever posted that too much oil is worse than not enough really ought to 
stick to just playing.
