[HAM] WD-40 - Vibrato scanner - M-102 ??Michael Downes lordvader131 at yahoo.comThu Jun 26 19:17:09 CDT 2008
DW40 tends to attract particles and other contaminates. It really isn't the right consistency for the little generator bushings. You really NEED to use REAL Hammond oil. I would be patient and order a bottle. Lots of dealers carry it. Remove Vibrato brush cover and discover that the vibrato wheel is indeed stuck. I can bush the little brass bracket in there slowly ,but it is indeed difficult. Question- Can I squirt some WD40 in there and let it sit a few minutes to free it up, or , will WD40 cause damage to some of the parts? I do recall some friendly discussion on this board about if WD40 is bad for the TG.
