[HAM] no perc decay, A100

To: LJRose
I just bought an A-100 for $400 here in western Canada, cosmetically excellent but with some "issues." I knew from the moment I tried it out that I needed a vibrato scanner rebuild and that was 1 of the reasons I was able to get the seller down to that price. The seller had inherited the A-100 after her uncle (a preacher) had passed away and the church had closed down. He had been the original owner. Anyway, I'm digressing. Over the last week I was able to get great info. about the vibrato scanner job from all of you and it was greatly appreciated. As to your problem LJRose, I was also having problems with my percussion decay and I've been lucky enough to hook up with a Hammond Tech. You're on the right track with the advice from MTCasino. Focus on the V6 as well as the socket. I needed a new V5 and V6 (the socket(s) were okay) and the au7 which I understand you've already ordered. I've learned a great deal from all of you as well as my own research over the last 2 months before I bought the A-100 and from my new Hammond Tech. buddy. To think, I was ready to buy a used XK-2 for about $800-$900. I'm very happy with the A-100 and my wife thinks it's a beautiful piece of furniture and a good deal too! Everyone's happy! Except, does anyone know where I can get a good, used Leslie 251? Over the next little while I will be picking everyone's brain about the A-100 and Leslie compatability. This was my inaugural message and like a politican, I've been a little long winded.
