[HAM] Del and his Marvelous Dentritz, C3 versionyngve berg yngve-m162 at hotmail.comSun Jun 29 19:40:59 CDT 2008
Honored members of the great List! I have recently bought myself a C3. Hallelujah! (yes, it was me who cursed the guy who didn't like Bill Brown. I feel stupid now and I should have shut up. Sorry to have offended anyone.) Guess what problem my C3 has? Correct! DELRITES! :-D They were there before I bought the organ,so I knew about them. I am stuck in the middle of disassembling here. I followed the Hammondwiki advices and found out, after have measured the K terminal with Bpreset depressed, pressed,Perc.switch on and off that the problem might just be somewhere in the manuals. I tried to zap with 2 9V batteries. No results. That is, I experienced an infinite resistance between the white wire and ground. The white wire is the one that goes from the resistor panel and disappears behind the preset panel. I also found that,by moving the white wire from side to side, the resistance sometimes goes from infinite to ca. 150 ohms. This made me suspicious that the white wire may be at least ONE of the problems. I then planned to change the white wire. Here is where the trouble starts. The question that comes to mind, is: Do I have to remove the amp, generator and preset panel to get to the little switch underneath the Bpreset key? I removed the wooden panel with the power switches(without cutting off the wires), loosened the long piece of metal with the drawbars and the front panel with the Hammond logo on it. I can see the little brown percussion switch down there. but I cannot reach it! Can anyone tell me how to get to the bottom of this? I am grateful for any answer. Off-list or on-list. Yngve Berg - careful with that B+, Eugene.
