Hi Mike,

I think one factor is that current artists are not using as much of  
the material that was being used back then, which was written with a  
stronger sentimental emotion producing content in melody and harmony,  
and with the sophisticated lyrics produced more involvement than that  
of todays strong emphasis on rhythm.

I tend to agree with Tom Tuson (of Diversi) that the Hammond can be  
the sexiest sounding instrument to play this type of stuff on!

Both Tony Monaco and Joey de Francesco have done and can play really  
sensuous stuff.

In terms of pleasing crowds it is easier for them to play simple blues.
