[HAM] Bad generator pickup coilMike Kearney armillary at comcast.netMon Mar 10 13:05:02 CDT 2008
Just wanted to report back that after I got the Heathkit Audio Generator cleaned up and working, I had no problem dialing in my missing tone 51 (approx 587 Hz). I attached the ground clip to the tone generator chassis and the output clip to the output of coil 51. I dialed in the volume to match the other notes on the keyboard and now the D5 key sounds just perfect. The Audio generator warms up in about the same time as the organ, so if I turn the Audio Generator on first, it's ready to go when the organ amp is up. It doesn't drift over time, unlike the tube Theremin I built recently and it's very stable. Puts off a lot of heat though. I'm also looking at a simple circuit based on the XR-2206 chip, but this is working fine for now.
