[HAM] Leslie 147's

Jordan,

Potentially, it could work. What it would accomplish is to cancel any
AC hum or other noise picked up equally by balanced signal wires in
the Leslie cable. Then, you'd use a 1:1 transformer to convert the
signal back to unbalanced at the Leslie end.

If it's a good quality transformer, you shouldn't get much signal
loss. Whether it's really a good idea is another question. If you do
it, you end up with a non-standard Leslie hookup, which is generally
considered a bad idea.

It is normal to get some hum and buzz from an AO-28 turned all the
way up. It can be minimized, but there will always be a bit of it.
You can sometimes lower it by swapping tubes, especially the 12AX7.
Some tube sellers will select low-noise tubes for you for an extra fee.

My 122 amplifier started life as a 147 :-)
