Keep in mind that even though it's very fine, it is an abrasive... that being said its absolutely fantastic to bring grimy keys (on pianos,keyboards,hammonds, etc..) back from the dead and shiny white again :)

Make sure you get the fine-cut type of rubbing compound and NOT the heavyduty stuff or you might scratch stuff... 
the fine-cut is very gentle and will not leave any scratch marks at all...
