[HAM] How would YOU do this?John Freund organguy at nj.rr.comSat May 31 00:48:15 CDT 2008
Actually, I did something very similar to what you describe with aluminum. I used a lid from my beater A(bomination)102. I had a design where the legs folded in from the front to the back and the lid dropped down. I even had a heel rest that dropped into position. It was a pretty nifty contraption - very light and when it folded up it was less than 3" thick. But aluminum can be a little flimsy and it had a racked a little - not a lot but enough that I was thinking about it from time to time throughout the gig. I meant to go back and improve it but space in the van was not a big enough issue and I stole back the lid, put it away and never got back to it. I'll go dig it out and post some pictures when I get a chance.
